    Events and Achievements include: Athlos – the Annual Sports meet of XIMB from Oct 21st - Oct 23rdin which a number of educational as well as corporate’s participated; The battle of X (TBX) -the annual intersection sports meet of XIMB; participated in Valla La -the annual sports meet of XLRI Jamshedpur; Colosseum- the annual corporate sports meet of XIMB participated by Tech Mahindra and Infosys; Junior football League; JOGA BONITO-Futsal Tournament and Badminton open tournament.

  • XQUIZZITE

    Key Achievements

    • XQuizzite, the knowledge and quizzing committee, organised its flagship event >Inquizzitive, the annual national level open quiz competition during Xpressions. The quizmaster was Major Chandrakant Nair, currently India’s most popular quizmaster, and the event saw huge participation from across the country; conducted Lanciare, an online 100-day countdown quiz. Rand(0,m) quiz, hosted by Mr. Pragyananda Mishra from Ola Cabs, an alumnus of IIM-K; and a host of other on-line and offline quizzes.
    • Launched a Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/xquizzite.ximb) with 3413 followers as on 30th Jan, 2016. And a blog (www.xquizzite.blogspot.in)

  • SPICMACAY

    This committee provides exemplary learning opportunities in the field of event management and association with classical music artists in India as well as abroad: Santoor Performance by Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya; Pratistha-The Cultural Intra College Talent Hunt, Kalaripayattu and Contemporary Dance form; Indian Food Festival; Organised “Vikalp” – A themed classical art form event across 3 days in association with X-Stage and XComm; Paint@XIMB- an inter-College Painting competition, Pratibimb – an inter College face painting competition & Viraasat - Solo Classical dance, song and music competition, during Xpression-2016; “Yamini”-the Overnight Concert; the Music in the Park Concert in association with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Odisha; The Rural School Intensive program for children at Koraput, Odisha; planned a Hungarian Jazz group circuit in Bhubaneswar; and circuit Concerts for renowned artists organized by SPICMACAY in Bhubaneswar.

  • SPEAKUP (The Oratory Club)

    Team SpeakUp, The Oratory Club successfully conducted a wide range of events conducting GD/PI Orientation Session for the freshers and organizing several debate competitions; Sailing my Internship – for the freshers for their summer internships; VAANI, a regular extempore event; the Parliamentary Debate competition; Model United Nations(MUN) saw a huge and diverse participation from the colleges both within and outside Orissa; Collaborated with LitSoc and Odisha Diary & volunteered as the goodwill ambassadors for the “Kalinga Literary Fest” during June’16 which witnessed many eminent personalities like Dr. Subramanian Swami, Piyush Mishra etc.; collaborated with Toastmasters International and successfully chartered an XIMB-XUB Toastmasters Club; Conducted “Chai Pe Charcha” on happenings in the business sectors and current affairs topics. TURNCOAT, a special kind of debate where the speaker has to quickly switch sides; “Roastmasters” in which performances of budding comedians from the institute would be showcased as a podcast.

  • X-SEED, the Idea and Initiative Cell

    XSEED organized XAVION’17: The Global Entrepreneurship Summit from 20th Jan to 22nd Jan 2017 hosted events, conclaves, workshops, sessions to participate, attend and learn: Session on Social Entrepreneurship by Gandhi Fellowship Program - speakers for the session were: Mr Vivek Sharma Program Director, Gandhi Fellowship Program, Mr Vaibhav Pandey, Program Manager, Piramal Foundation for Educational Leadership, Mr Abhyudai Dhawan, Communications Specialist, United Nations Development Programme.

    • Workshop on “How to run start-up profitably”: Speaker for the session was Mr Rajesh Srivastava (EX-COO, SP Jain school of Global Management, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney; Ex- President, J. K. Helene Curtis Ltd; Ex-Faculty, IIM, Indore): Entrepreneurship session for school students conducted by the students; Launch Pad: The B-Plan Competition: Co-organised by Ekutir Global;
    • Business Conclave on Women Entrepreneurship: Speakers for the event were-Mrs Garima Sahai, CEO Svadha (Previously worked with World Bank); Mrs Debadutta Upadyaya, Co-founder & CEO, Timesaverz.com; Mrs Nandita Mathur, Deputy Editor, Livemint; The Investors’ Drive with various startups and VC’s like TiE Bhubaneswar; Electropreneur Park, New Delhi;
    • International Business Conclave: Speakers for the event were: Mr Ajey Mehta: Nokia India CEO (Country head HMD Global); Mr Uddipan Bagchi: Vice president and global head insurance, NTT Japan, Mr Srinivashan Iyer, Founder, The HR Club, CEO, MPower Business, Facilitators Limited; Ms Ainara Kaur (Founder & Brand Consultant, Canvilicious; Ex-CMO, Myntra);
    • The Internship Fair: Conducted for the first time to place students as interns in various startups. Students from various MBA colleges as well as engineering colleges attended the summit.

  • LitSoc

    LitSoc, the literary committee organized various events to bring out the literary talent of the students: A micro-story writing competition; helping the Literary Festivals in Bhubaneswar reach out to the right audience for the New Indian Express, Orissa Diary and Tata Steel; article writing contests opened to students from all over the country; hosted author interactions and some big celebrities visiting our campuses like Mr. Piyush Mishra, Mr. Ruskin Bond, Ravinder Singh and Preeti Shenoy; Bookstalls were put up in both the campuses in association with Walking Bookfair; partnered with SRC to organize an online event for World AIDS Day

  • X-Stage

    Major activities: X-Capade - A talent hunt competition for first years; participation in Valhalla the Annual Sports-cultural fest of XLRI; Vikalp was hosted in collaboration with students of XComm and Spicmacay; During Xpressions coordinated Goonj – the Solo singing competition, Decibelz – Battle of bands , Carnival De Vogue – Fashion show competition, Aaghaz – Nukkad naatak competition (XIMB team – runners up), Thirkan – Group dance competition; Salsa Workshop was held from 23rd– 27th Jan 2017; an Annual showcase play 31st Jan 2017 – Hindi adaptation of “Accidental death of an anarchist – by Dario Fo”; and a theatrical play by Indian Ensemble (11th - 12th Feb 2017) – Mi’raj

  • Social Responsibility Cell

    The following activities were conducted :

    • Women’s Day celebration; Yoga Day- a 90 minute workshop was conducted; in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation.
    • UDAAN; Independence Day was made special by involving the mess staff in delivering the I-Day message, song performance and finally a flash-mob performance by students.
    • Joy of Giving week; Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-students door to door awareness drive on “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.
    • Quilling Art was encouraged cards by putting up a display made by the Mess Bhaina’s
    • Blood donation camp was organized at both the campuses, along with Capital Hospital in association with Red Cross and Ama Odisha.
    • Celebrated Diwali by visiting NGOs and organizing Fun activities for elders and children.
    • Street Store –students put up a Store where the ones in need were allowed to browse through the clothes and pick anything they like, high turnout and long queues and approximately 1000 beneficiaries got their chosen clothes from this store.
    • Card and Craft Shop was set up on-campus to generate fund for differently abled children and Deaf and Mute School and some Quilling Cards & Crafts.
    • Shiksha Kunji saw the sponsoring of 40 Children’s education this year by the Alumni, faculty and staff of XUB.
  • EXEMPLAR – THE COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE

    Exemplar conducted a number of sessions for the students on how to crack case studies, effective presentation skills for high impact content delivery; and conducting effective market research. As a result, XIMB was awarded the Maximum Dreamers Award by Godrej Industries for having the highest number of submissions for their LOUD competition; winner in Economic Times Young Leaders for Aditya Birla Group, Hindustan Unilever Limited’s Premier 30; crowned as national winners in Infosys case study competition, HCL Ace Challenge, Latent view data premier league case competition; success in Deloitte Maverick, Mahindra Warroom Season 9, V-Guard Case study challenge, Steel-a-thon by Tata Steel, HSBC Investment Banking Challenge, Hero case challenge and L&T OutThink; and, one team was runner-up at international case study competition Advancing Development Goals Students contest held in Geneva.
